ACRA Award winning host, Louise Poole brings her unique style and energy to everything she produces. For over eight years the radio personality maintained the first and second ratings spots for the Brisbane market with her morning show on 973fm Brisbane. Louise is right home behind the mic chatting to listeners about their day or, equally, to high profile actors, musicians and politicians. She even made Celine Dion laugh.

There’s no such thing as an overnight success, and in Louise’s case, she started young, honing her craft in different regional centres of Australia.

Success is not a destination, rather a process we can be manifest time and again. Louise’s success journey began with a focus on learning her craft at the Australian Film Television and Radio School where she learned not only how to make great programming, but how to find the right ears to enjoy it. 

Louise carried her passion for people and music through roles as Announcer and Music Director, rising to become Content Director for sister stations HOT100 and MIX1049 in Darwin, where she nurtured her teams, sharing her industry know-how. You might have also heard Louise on the radio in cities like Canberra, Newcastle, and Ipswich and various regional centres across NSW, VIC, QLD and the NT.

With strong brand management experience, Louise innovated commercial radio content, creating a synergy between on air content and the online media that underpin it. She won 2 Australian Commercial Radio Awards, and was nominated 5 times, before joining the Queensland judging panel for the ACRAs. She has also previously been a voting member for the ARIA awards.

Perhaps it was the industry-developed talent for interviewing, or the skills she acquired as a telephone counsellor for Lifeline. Either way, Louise became the number one marketplace leader in her time slot on weekday mornings in Brisbane as she sourced, prepared and presented features for interviews and podcasts.

In her spare time, Louise displays her cheeky and colourful style as Instagram’s Plus Size Fashionista – Any Excuse For Fashion – A project that aims to help plus size beauties find fashion that feels good as well as promote body neutrality, diversity & inclusion, intersectional feminism, good mental heath and self love. Her online presence is the perfect complement to her audio adventures, with her colourful photo shoots proving there really can be Any Excuse For Fashion.
